Branch Manager
Supervise and coordinate the activities of all staff at the branch. Maintain a safe workplace environment, ensure compliance with applicable laws and attract and retain qualified team members. It is the Branch Manager's objective to meet or exceed the annual EBIT, sales budget and inventory goals while fulfilling the customers' expectations for supply of product and service.
Essential tasks include hiring and supervising employees, reviewing work, planning work schedules, communicating with employees, appraising and documenting employee performance, enforcing company policies, counseling employees, preparing reports, ensuring customer satisfaction, managing inventory, processing invoices, leading sales meetings, maintaining customer relationships, developing product pricing strategies, updating catalogs, reviewing inventory reports, coordinating collection efforts, establishing preventive maintenance plans, ensuring physical inventory accuracy, maintaining branch appearance, and ensuring proper telephone answering.
Skills required include monitoring performance, judgment and decision making, management of personnel resources, communicating effectively, active learning, time management, mathematics, critical thinking, and coordination.
Attributes include oral expression, oral comprehension, problem sensitivity, and deductive reasoning.
Physical demands involve handling stock, including lifting or carrying parts in excess of 60 lbs. up to 15% of the time, with majority of lifting and carrying involving parts between 5 and 60 lbs. Environmental conditions include inside / outside conditions, varied temperature changes, minimal chemical hazards, vibration, dust, and vehicle noise. OSHA approved steel toed safety shoes are required.
Qualifications include a high school diploma (or GED or high school equivalence certificate), an associate's degree in business administration preferred, minimum of 5 years of experience in the heavy duty truck parts industry, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
