About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 1.5 years in a large hospital, preferred level 1 or 2 experience.

License : Any state RN license required.

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.

Must-Have :

Must be able to pass an online EKG Tele competency assessment prior to starting assignment.

Must float to all step-down / advanced care units.

Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.

Description :

The role involves caring for patients in a telemetry setting.

The target patient ratios are 1 : 4, but can be up to 1 : 5-6.

The unit may utilize a team nursing model, dividing work among RNs, LPNs, and PCTs to improve workload and patient care.

Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing based on unit needs.

The patient population includes chest pain rule outs, syncope, vertigo, abdominal pain, CHF, COPD, and stroke rule outs.

The expected length of stay for patients is less than 24 hours in an observation unit with 40 beds.

Heavy cardiac population experience is preferred.

Travel experience is advantageous.

Agency staff will be the first to float as needed within the facility.

Patient care involves managing cardiac telemetry, IV insulin protocols, and post-cardiac angiogram care.

Further competencies include starting and maintaining IVs and managing renal failure.

Candidates must complete lab work and an EKG / Dysrhythmia exam within specified timeframes.

No more than 14 days of time off requests will be considered.

This position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care and teamwork.
