Computer Engineer II (Contingent)

The Computer Engineer II provides mid-level engineering support for the U.S.

Navy’s combat systems and support equipment.

This role involves full life cycle support, including design, development, testing, and implementation of computer hardware and software systems that enhance operational readiness and reduce lifecycle costs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, design, develop, and test computer hardware and software systems.
• Design and evaluate components such as chips, circuit boards, and peripheral equipment.
• Oversee manufacturing and installation of computer hardware and related systems.
• Develop and implement software systems for control of digital devices and Navy systems.

Apply principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematics to software design and evaluation.

• Analyze user requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
• Develop software for operating systems, network distribution, and compilers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software-related technical issues.
• Focus on algorithm development and advanced problem-solving.

Utilize programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and occasionally Fortran or COBOL. Required Qualifications:

• U.S.

Citizenship Active Secret Clearance Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in computer design, software development, or computer networks Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting Navy programs Familiarity with Navy combat systems and lifecycle support Strong analytical and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Compensation $95,680 - $135,200 per year Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
