As a Travel Nurse RN specializing in Psychiatric care, I provide high-quality mental health support across various units within a hospital, ensuring trauma-informed and patient-centered approaches. I possess a Massachusetts RN License and certifications in AHA BLS and de-escalation techniques, with at least two years of experience in behavioral health. My role includes floating between pediatric, adult, and geriatric psychiatric units, delivering care to diverse patient populations while proficiently managing medication systems and electronic health records.

Job Details

  • Behavioral Health Float Pool Psych RN Nights & EOW – 36hrs.
  • Unit Name : Behavioral Health Float Pool – Psych RN.
  • Brief Unit Description : This position will float to various mental health units throughout the hospital (Pedi, Adult & Geri Psych).
  • Years of Experience Required : 2 years minimum.
  • Skill Sets Required : Trauma informed, patient-centered, and verbally capable of de-escalating patients. Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell); proficient in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC; proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects.
  • Clinician to Patient Ratio : Unit specific. Pedi Psych is : 1 to 3. Adult & Geri Psych is 1 : 7 or 8.
  • Patient Population : Children Ages 3-17, Adults 18 – 65, and Geriatric Adults 66+.
  • EMR (Charting System) : EPIC.
  • Floating Required : Yes, to all behavioral health areas within the Epstein Units and AMHU.
  • Rotating Shifts Required : Yes, for Day Rotate (7a-7p, 11a-11p & 7p-7a). Rotation not required for Night Shift.

  • Massachusetts RN License.
  • AHA BLS Certification.
  • Certification in De-escalation.

    • Schedule Information

  • Nights & EOW
  • 36 hours per week

  • Unit Name : Behavioral Health Float Pool – Psych RN.

    • Additional Details

  • AVADE training offered on-site as well as lead EKG training.
