Job Summary

The Supplemental Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing patients and developing individualized treatment plans based on thorough evaluations, which include neuromuscular and skeletal function assessments. The successful candidate will document findings and progress, while also providing guidance to patients and their caregivers. This role involves collaboration with other physical therapists and management in program development, alongside mentoring assistants, students, interns, and rehabilitation technicians in patient care.

A physical therapist practicing direct access is expected to evaluate a patient's conditions to identify movement and mobility dysfunctions without diagnosing any illnesses. In cases where a medical diagnosis exists, the physical therapist will incorporate this information into their evaluation process.

We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to enhance our acute care team at Southwest Hospital! This supplemental position requires a minimum commitment of two weekend days (Saturdays and / or Sundays) every six weeks, with flexible hours from 8 am to 4 : 30 pm.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Licenses / Certifications :

• Current license to practice Physical Therapy issued by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or the Physical Therapy Compact Commission.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.

For direct access practice :

Education : Doctoral degree with residency or fellowship, OR licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing education in differential diagnosis.
