Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (NICU RN)

We are seeking an experienced NICU RN to join our Neonatal Intensive Care team in a high acuity, family centered environment. The NICU RN provides specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns, partnering closely with neonatology and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates, including continuous assessment and monitoring

Manage incubators, ventilators, CPAP, IV therapy, TPN, and medication administration per protocol

Support neonatal procedures, obtain labs, and maintain central line care as appropriate

Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in infant condition, initiating emergency interventions as needed

Educate and support families, promoting bonding and developmental care practices

Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapy, lactation, and ancillary services to coordinate care

Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR

Requirements

Active RN license (state specific or compact)

Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN experience in the same specialty

BLS required; NRP required

Strong neonatal assessment, critical thinking, and family communication skills

Comfortable with high acuity neonates, advanced monitoring, and rapid response situations
