University Business Administrators - Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting the CFO for the Division of Student Affairs in leading the Division's business operations. This includes supervision of the key business staff in Campus Recreation, Counseling & Psychological Services, University Health Services, Department of Student Support & Transitions, Student Conduct & Community Standards, Title IX, and Career Center. This role will also assist with various centralized Divisional business needs.

  • Responsible for supervising the business staff in the Campus Recreation, Counseling & Psychological Services, University Health Services, Department of Student Support & Transitions, Student Conduct & Community Standards, Title IX, and Career Center, including recruitment, training, reviewing work products, and evaluating staff in these positions. Directs staff to ensure department receives timely and accurate financial reports and other business functions. Works with Director in respective departments to ensure operational goals are being met and develops recommendations for improvements in process and policy, as needed. This position will also work with the business staff within the departments to fulfill divisional business needs.
  • Responsible for administrative functions within the Student Affairs Business Office by participating in strategic planning & policy development. Recommends policies & procedures to Departments / Directors to ensure compliance w / federal, state & university regulations. Serves as a member of the Student Affairs Business Office management team. Participates in the development & implementation of training material, procedure improvement enhancements & organizational meetings. Conducts research, as appropriate, for projects or initiatives within the Student Affairs Business Office or within supervised departmental areas.
  • Supports the CFO in reviewing and analyzing Divisional financial data, compiling data and reports, reporting templates, and preparing Divisional financial reports for the Divisional leadership team. Special projects as assigned by the CFO.
  • Responsible for the following central Divisional needs :

Divisional Budgeting Process - assisting with centralized Divisional budget processes

  • Divisional Budget Leadership Team : assistance with leading the business team for the Division (team consists of both central & departmental resources assigned with business-related tasks)
  • Business Operations - assists with developing and maintaining standards and resources for business operations across the Division
  • E&G rate oversight : assisting with centralized review of Divisional rate
  • Foundation Fund Management : assisting with management of Divisional Foundation accounts including serving as lead resource for the scholarship system and related processes
  • Qualifications

    Master's degree and four years of experience related to budget, financial and / or accounting services or a Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff of various levels within organization.
  • Ability to manipulate and evaluate data.
  • Ability to interpret policy and develop necessary procedures to ensure compliance.
