Facility Setting : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) & General Pediatrics

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Start Date : November 17, 2025

End Date : February 16, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (18 : 30-07 : 00), every other weekend and holiday

Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week

Unit Size : 17 beds

Charting System : Epic EMR

Dress Code : Navy blue scrubs or child-friendly colorful scrub top with navy blue pants

PICU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required for travel nursing jobs)

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in pediatric acute care or PICU nursing

Ability to provide care in both PICU and general pediatric units

Epic charting system experience preferred

Willingness to float to NICU, OB, and other hospital units as needed

Not available to local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles of Bismarck

PICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, including management of continuous nebulizers, BiPAP, and DKA on insulin drip

Care for 3-4 patients on the general pediatric floor when PICU census is low

Float to NICU for grower / feeder assignments, OB for assistance, and house-wide for 1 : 1 safety or suicide watch

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR

Comply with facility policies, including badging in / out and dress code requirements

Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
