Capital Accounting Manager
Under the direction of the SVP Capital Projects, the Capital Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the execution of the capital accounting team including, but not limited to, invoice processing, accounts payable and receivable, month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, project financial reporting, capital draws, and others as assigned by the SVP.
Essential Job Functions :
- Manage Capital Project Accounting team, workflow, responsibilities, and productivity
- Determine and maintain team's internal reporting schedule
- Collect, analyze, and support setting up project data and budgets in Banner
- Oversee posting project journal entries, accruals, and re-classes
- Review monthly capex bank reconciliations - monitors cash flow and communicate with project staff
- Prepare audit reports and presenting findings to management
- Manage lender requirements and reporting
- Review lender and sub draw requests before submission
- Confirms receive of project subcontractor / supplier lien waivers when processing invoices
- Supporting job forecasting, budget adjustments, and change order needs
- Assist in cultivation of valuable relationships with current clients PMs, Maintenance supervisors, sub-contractors, vendors, asset managers etc.
- Resolution of items escalated by team

Required Skills / Abilities :
The Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of US GAAP, be organized, a self-starter, have the ability to proceed and follow through with action plans, provide solution implementation and improvements with minimal monitoring from management.They must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities :Understanding of organizational accounting conceptsKnowledge of budgets, contracts, lien waiversStrong financial analysis skillsAbility to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available dataIntermediate Microsoft Excel skillsSuperior knowledge of financial reporting software tools - preferably EntrataIn-depth knowledge of financial guidelines and regulationsExcellent attention to detail and strong organizational skillsPro-active and personable communication skills with clients and internal / external referral sourcesLead a group of two or more employeesEducation and Experience :
