Responsibilities include :
- Management of the Career Education Center
- Oversight of student academic services and individual academic plans
- Supervision and management of the Academics Department and staff
- Infusion of applied academics into CTT curricula
- Ensuring strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data
- Following all integrity guidelines and procedures
- Ensuring the center meets or exceeds DOL / Company performance goals
- Interviewing, recommending for hire, disciplining, recommending for termination, and evaluating the performance of employees in the Academics Department
- Filling staff vacancies in a timely manner
- Providing students with educational training leading to GED / HSD completion and improved literacy and numeracy skills
- Providing comprehensive and individualized case management
- Ensuring high quality academic programming and instruction
- Ensuring that the area of oversight is organized, clean, safe, and conducive to student learning
- Motivating, empowering, and requiring staff to perform job responsibilities
- Developing staff for career progression and disciplining staff that fail to meet goals
- Providing required and supplemental training for new and current employees
- Motivating and managing staff to work effectively
- Creating a supportive work environment
- Recognizing staff accomplishments
- Proactively addressing staff performance concerns
- Developing center-beneficial linkages within the community
- Promoting a positive image of the center and Job Corps
- Mentoring, monitoring, and modeling the Career Success Standards
- Providing high-quality supervision and management for the student population
- Taking swift and appropriate action and positively influencing student behavior
- Showing respect and courtesy to students and holding them accountable for their actions and behavior
- Providing quality programs and services for students and ensuring that quality is maintained and student needs are met
- Pursuing improvement and enhancement of programs and services
- Coordinating and overseeing the academics advisory counsel
- Exchanging ideas and information in a clear and concise manner
- Contributing meaningfully to group efforts
- Effectively articulating thoughts and ideas
- Identifying problems, analyzing causes, and evaluating appropriate solutions
- Working in partnership with staff from all departments
- Accepting direction and supervision
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree from an accredited school requiredMasters degree preferredA valid in-state teaching certificate or waiver requiredPrevious teaching or Job Corps experience preferredAdams and Associates, Inc. abides by the requirements of 41 CFR 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
