Registered Nurse - Psych

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc.

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Psych to provide high-quality psychiatric nursing care to patients in an inpatient or outpatient behavioral health setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in mental health care and a commitment to patient safety, emotional support, and therapeutic engagement.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans for patients with psychiatric or behavioral health conditions.
Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including side effects or changes in mental status.
Monitor patients for safety concerns, initiate crisis interventions, and respond to behavioral escalations as necessary.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated mental health care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient behaviors, interventions, and outcomes.
Provide patient education and support regarding diagnoses, medications, and coping strategies.
Support a therapeutic environment through patient advocacy, group facilitation, and active participation in care planning.

Qualifications

Active RN license in good standing.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing preferred.

Current BLS certification; certification in psychiatric / mental health nursing (PMHN) is a plus.

Strong communication, observation, and de-escalation skills.

Familiarity with trauma-informed care and behavioral health regulations.
