We’re seeking a Power BI Developer who will design, develop, and maintain robust data reporting solutions. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders (directors, business unit leaders, Continuous Improvement teams) to transform raw data into high-impact dashboards that drive performance and decision-making across the company.

Key Responsibilities :

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with directors and business unit leaders to gather, clarify, and refine reporting requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Communicate data insights in a clear, accessible manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Develop & Optimize Power BI Solutions

  • Build scalable dashboards using advanced Power BI features (e.g., custom visuals, complex DAX, row-level security).
  • Continuously refine and optimize semantic models for performance and usability, defining relationships, hierarchies, and calculated measures.

    • Data Accuracy & Quality Control

  • Perform audits on datasets, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to bridge gaps between data sources and reporting layers, contributing feedback on ETL processes.

    • SQL & Data Transformation

  • Write and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support data extraction and transformation.
  • Make minor updates in Azure Data Factory or similar ETL tools to assist with data flow and troubleshoot issues.

    • Insights & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify patterns, trends, and improvement opportunities through exploratory data analysis.
  • Champion data visualization best practices, designing intuitive dashboards that highlight key metrics and drive actionable insights.
  • Proactively propose enhancements and automation strategies (e.g., Power Automate, process improvement frameworks).

    • Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Independently manage reporting projects from gathering requirements to final delivery.
  • Balance multiple projects with competing priorities, delivering on time while meeting quality standards.

    • Preferred Qualifications

    Power BI Expertise

  • 3+ years of professional experience developing and delivering Power BI dashboards.
  • Advanced DAX skills for creating complex measures and calculations.
  • Familiarity with bookmarks, drill-throughs, row-level security, dataflows, paginated reports, and Power BI Embedded.

    • Semantic Model Development

  • Proven track record designing and optimizing data models for performance and scalability.
  • Comfortable defining relationships, hierarchies, and calculated measures in Power BI.

    • SQL & Database Proficiency

  • Strong command of T-SQL or similar, with the ability to write and troubleshoot queries.
  • Understanding of relational database principles, indexing, performance tuning, and normalization.

    • Data Governance & Quality

  • Experience applying data governance principles to maintain accuracy, integrity, and security.
  • Skilled at auditing datasets, validating reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.g., PII handling).

    • Industry Experience

  • Familiarity with construction

    • related industries, including project-based workflows, financial metrics, and operational KPIs.

  • Ability to tailor data models and dashboards for budgets, scheduling, resource allocation, and other project-management needs.

    • Project Management & Problem-Solving

  • Adept at juggling multiple projects with varying deadlines and priorities.
  • Analytical mindset for diagnosing data-related issues, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing targeted solutions.

    • Collaboration & Communication

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to translate technical capabilities into business solutions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including external engineering partners, to ensure smooth handoffs and version control.

    • Process Improvement & Automation

  • Knowledge of integrating APIs, automating pipelines, and using tools like Power Automate for workflow enhancements.

    • Technical Requirements

    Business Intelligence Tools

  • Proficient in Power BI (advanced DAX, interactive visuals, storytelling dashboards).
  • Familiarity with modern data modeling best practices (star schemas, surrogate keys, hierarchies).

    • Data Integration & ETL Support

  • Basic comfort with Azure Data Factory or comparable tools for scheduling and monitoring data pipelines.
  • Understanding of ETL / ELT best practices (data quality checks, error handling).

    • Data Warehousing & Modeling

  • Familiarity with data lake-house or dimensional modeling concepts.
  • Knowledge of fact and dimension tables, slowly changing dimensions, and surrogate keys.

    • Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Ability to monitor dashboard refresh times, optimize DAX queries, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
  • Skilled in recommending improvements at both the model and query levels.

    • Version Control & Collaboration

  • Experience with Git or equivalent source control systems to maintain report integrity.
  • Willingness to collaborate with data engineers, escalate complex tasks, and ensure efficient project handoffs.
