Position Description: Greater State Bank is looking for a Commercial Loan Officer. To join our growing team, please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications.
Commercial lenders provide loan decisions and/or credit recommendations based on a review of all underwriting criteria, including loan structure, collateral, interest rate, and fees within assigned loan authority.

Responsibilities
Follow current loans to ensure conformity with terms and to develop knowledge of developing trends
Identify customers banking needs and matching bank products and services
Build effective relationships and trust with clients and potential clients by listening to and uncovering their needs and educating them about the bank products and services that are most appropriate for their situation
Identifies business development opportunities with prospects or current customers
Collects application documents and analyzes clients financial condition
Maintains current knowledge on banking and lending products, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, market and industry activities and trends
Evaluate potential transactions to determine quality of lending opportunities and appropriate transaction structure to mitigate risk and maximize return on investment
Manage internal deal screening, risk analysis, pricing analysis and internal credit approval process
Draft and negotiate term sheets, commitment letters and loan documents
Support legal documentation and execution of new transactions

Skills/Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field OR 3+ years prior experience in an equivalent field OR experience sufficient to perform the responsibilities as outlined above.
Knowledge of financial statements and accounting practices.
Excellent customer service and collection skills to handle situations which require assertiveness and discretion.
Ability to collaborate with team members.
Ability to listen to and recognize customer problems and determine a resolution.
Excellent oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of appropriate banking laws and regulations.
Strong experience writing content.
Time management skills & ability to meet deadlines.
Some travel will be required.
Community involvement.
Work schedules are Monday - Friday (8am-6pm) varies and participation in Saturday rotation of 9:00am - 1:00pm.
Bilingual preferred.

Physical Requirements
Some lifting and moving may be required.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Standing for a long period of time.

Education:
Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field OR 3+ years prior experience in an equivalent field OR experience sufficient to perform the responsibilities as outlined above.
