Allient-Rochester (formerly ORMEC Systems, Inc.), a subsidiary of Allient Inc., specializing in motion control systems related to motion controllers, servo drives, motors, and integrated automation solutions is seeking a Program Manager to join our Rochester, New York team!

The Program Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating projects related to motion control systems. This is a hands-on role that will oversee new product introductions, manage customer interactions, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive successful project outcomes from initiation to completion. The Program Manager will interface with cross-functional teams across Allient’s global network and serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and customers in industries such as aerospace, medical, semiconductor equipment, and industrial automation. Responsibilities :

  • Lead the launch of new programs and product introductions, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison for customers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on technical and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, develop, and execute product development strategies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including major development milestones.
  • Ensure alignment of project objectives with business goals and strategies.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, deployments and other functional teams.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, including progress, risks, and issues.
  • Lead and coordinate efforts to resolve project-related challenges and roadblocks.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation and documentation of designs and engineering changes, ensuring updates are reflected in BOMs and project plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure readiness for SOP (start of production).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives post-SOP to optimize product performance, inform new product development programs, and address any operational challenges.
  • Support sales and business development teams with technical insights to align customer requirements with organizational capabilities.
  • Support product management team to define our product roadmap while partnering with engineering leads to ensure that the organization’s technical roadmap is well understood, and that development efforts and staffing are aligned with our product roadmap.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline).
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, preferably in motion control, automation, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects or product launches from inception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of the product development process, especially concurrent / cross-functional development within a regulated environment (FDA, ISO, etc.).
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CAD systems and engineering design processes.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and related industry standards.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, technical projects and meet customer expectations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Up to 15% travel to client sites, industry events, key suppliers, and other Allient locations required.
  • Qualifications Preferred :

  • Experience in the aerospace, defense, medical, or semiconductor equipment industries.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Familiarity with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
  • Six Sigma or other continuous improvement certifications.
