Job Title : CMM Programmer (Freelance available)

Job Description

This is a fixed-term position lasting approximately six months. The successful candidate will provide intermediate to senior -level support to the Inspection Department by writing programs for legacy part numbers, enabling their inspection on the new Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) WENZEL machine.

Responsibilities

  • Write CMM programs for legacy part numbers to allow inspection on the new WENZEL machine.
  • Analyze dimensional data against part models to determine part conformity.
  • Utilize customer specifications, drawings, PC-DMIS, and VERISURF software for program development.
  • Prepare CMM programs for product inspection using drawings, parts lists, and CAD models.
  • Validate programs for accuracy and completion for both legacy parts and new products.
  • Develop LEAN inspection procedures to maximize efficiency.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications to ensure conformance to all requirements.
  • May write inspection procedures for work instructions.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in CMM programming.
  • Experience with Verisurf software.
  • Knowledge of PC-DMIS.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Ability to validate the accuracy and completeness of CMM programs.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in analyzing dimensional data against part models.
  • Familiarity with LEAN inspection procedures.
  • Capability to interpret drawings and specifications.

    Work Environment

    The primary work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break at noon. Flexible work arrangements are possible, including freelance positions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, or a second shift of four hours after a regular job.

    This is a Contract position based out of Ontario, California.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 / hr.
