Position :

  • Quality Engineer Reports To :           Quality Manager Status :    Exempt, Full-Time Position Summary :   Quality Engineer will interpret assembly drawings, Specification and Customer Statements of Work Development.  Develops work instructions for Quality Control personnel to ensure customer requirements.

Responsibilities :

  • Plan and develop First Article documentation per customer requirements.
  • Ability to develop and implement Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Ability to interpret statistical data to reduce defects and support Engineering to improve processes.
  • Interact with all levels from assembly to upper management to convey the status of Plant wide quality.
  • Interacts with customers to provide statistical data for First Pass Yields and CAPA.
  • Provide Quality Manager with support to maintain the APT Quality System in accordance with the APT Quality Manual and Policy and the International Standard.
  • Adapt statistical methods in order to solve specific problems.
  • Has the authority to identify problems, recommend solutions and withhold items not meeting quality standards.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Education / Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent education and work experience.
  • IPC-A-610 and / or IPC-J-STD-001certification preferred.
  • ASQC Quality Engineer, Quality Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum (5) five years’ experience directly related to electronics assembly including SMT, Through Hole, Box Build and Hand soldering.
  • Knowledge of the International Standards ISO 9000, AS9100 and ISO 13485.
  • Experience in PCBA Contract Manufacturing for military contracts.
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional work groups including suppliers, customers, both verbally and in writing.  Excellent listening skills.
  • Able to take the initiative to be proactive in a fast-pace environment.
  • Ability to identifies and solve problems, develops innovative solutions, acts decisively, and portraits good judgment. -Withhold items that do not meet quality standards -Initiate preventative and corrective measures ensuring continued quality improvement.   Powered by JazzHR
