American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Long Beach, California.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Neonatal ICU RN with a current CA license, two years of NICU experience, and flexibility for weekend night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in a Level III NICU
  • Night shifts with block scheduling, primarily Friday to Sunday or Thursday to Monday from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week on weekends only
  • Float required to PICU and CTICU as needed
  • Uses Epic for documentation, with pre-start Epic training modules
  • Patient care includes ventilators, bubble CPAP, HFNC, phototherapy, tube feed / gavage, and management of blood products
  • Care for critically ill neonates including those requiring advanced respiratory and medication management
  • Must complete Epic training modules prior to start
  • Up to five days of pre-approved time off allowed, with blackout dates around key holidays
  • Locals accepted at a local rate if residing within 50 miles
  • No on-call responsibility
  • Must be flexible for weekend coverage and floating assignments

    • Requirements

  • Active CA RN license in hand
  • Minimum two years of Level III NICU RN experience
  • Current BLS and Advanced NRP certifications required
  • Experience with phototherapy, tube feed / gavage, blood products, PICC and peripheral lines, anti-seizure meds, caffeine, vasopressors, neonatal abstinence, phlebotomy, bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilator management
  • No prior permanent employment at the facility allowed
  • One reference from the past two years required
  • First-time travelers accepted if they meet experience requirements
  • No reported violations or 'hits' on Nursys license verification
