Unit Type : Observation / Admission Unit Floor : Same as Emergency Department Number of Beds : 15 Patient Population : Similar to Med-Surg Low HEART score Abdominal pain Pneumonia, COPD, AKI Radiation patients Post-op : Lap chole, appy (low-level surgical) Certifications Required : ACLS (preferred) Nurse-Patient Ratios : Night Shift : 1 : 6–7 Support Staff : Charge Nurse : Shared with ED Midlevel Coverage : 24 / 7 assigned to RDU Monitor Techs : Centralized monitoring available; RNs must read telemetry Shift Times : 6 : 45 AM – 7 : 15 PM / 6 : 45 PM – 7 : 15 AM Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Holiday Requirement : Work 2 out of 5 major holidays (includes eves) Floating Requirement : May float to Med-Surg Towers Scrub Color : Navy Blue Orientation : 1 day : Clinical / EPIC training 1 day : Unit-specific orientation on the floor Proficiency : Our seasoned team of professionals has years of experience and we are dedicated to provide the highest quality service to our clients and candidates.
