Title : QA Technician / Machine Operator

Shift : 2nd Shift, Monday - Thursday, 3 : 00 PM - 1 : 30 AM

Salary : $26.00 - $28.00 per hour

Who we are :

Located in Indiana, our client manufactures custom-engineered steel wire and sheet metal products. This facility has approximately 40 employees, and we are hiring to fill this high-priority QA Technician / Machine Operator on 2nd shift.

QA Technician / Machine Operator Role :

This hybrid role exists to support both quality assurance and hands-on production. This position is approximately 80% machine operation and 20% quality inspection, making it perfect for an experienced operator who wants to formally expand their quality skill set.

QA Technician / Machine Operator Responsibilities :

• Operate, fabricate, and assemble various metal products using tools and machines
• Read and interpret measurements, blueprints, and assembly instructions
• Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, or rust from work pieces
• Perform quality inspections (first / last piece, in-process) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards
• Determine if materials should be scrapped or if rework is feasible
• Complete quality control forms and communicate information with supervisors
• Keep the non-conformance area clean and organized

QA Technician / Machine Operator Reporting Relationships :

The QA Tech / Machine Operator reports to the Quality Manager. This role has no direct reports.

Additional Information :

Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for extended periods. Capability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Work Environment : Work in a production environment that requires safety glasses and earplugs at all times. The workspace involves temperature variations (45°ree;F to 110°ree;F), exposure to fumes, solvents, and dust.
