Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Location : Rochester, NY 14642 (New York healthcare jobs)

Setting : Adult Cardiac Operating Room (OR)

Assignment Type : Travel nursing job

Duration : 17 weeks (approx. 4 months)

Start Date : January 5, 2026

End Date : April 4, 2026

Hours per Week : 36

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7 : 00am – 7 : 00pm), 3 shifts per week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2,250 - $2,310 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in New York State

Minimum 2 years of operating room (OR) nursing experience; Level 1 trauma center experience preferred

Proficient in both scrubbing and circulating roles in the OR

BLS Certification from the American Heart Association

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care to cardiac surgery patients in the operating room

Assist with advanced cardiac procedures, including CABGs, TAVIs, VADs, ECMO, artificial heart, and heart transplants

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes

Perform scrub and circulate duties during surgical procedures

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient safety standards
