Position Title : Lead Painter Company Name : Innovation Painting & Remodeling Pay Range : $30-$38+ per hour + Performance & Year-End Bonuses Industry : Construction / Remodeling (Residential, Commercial) Location : Portland, ME Job Overview Innovation Painting & Remodeling is seeking a highly skilled Lead Painter to join our Field Operations team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead and perform high-quality interior and exterior painting projects on residential and light commercial properties. Ideal candidates will bring a strong foundation in surface preparation, paint application, and touch-up techniques-with bonus points for experience in drywall repair or basic rot repair. Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute professional-grade interior and exterior painting projects.- Oversee surface preparation including sanding, caulking, priming, and patching.- Apply coatings with precision using brush, roller, and sprayer techniques.- Perform drywall patching, minor rot repair, and finishing work when needed.- Collaborate with team members to maintain jobsite cleanliness and safety.- Communicate clearly with clients regarding project progress and expectations.- Train and supervise painter's helpers or junior crew members.- Conduct final inspections to ensure all work meets company and client standards. Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of professional painting experience (interior and exterior).- Strong understanding of prep, painting systems, and surface types.- Bonus : Experience with drywall repair or light carpentry (, rot repair).- Exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship.- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers.- Capable of working independently and managing small teams.- No formal education required-skills and experience take priority.- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
