American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NM or compact license, TNCC certification, and 2 years of recent experience with Level I trauma exposure strongly preferred.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is within a Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital emergency department
  • Emergency Department patient population with high admission and ED holding rates
  • Standard nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 5
  • Floating to Adult PCU is expected; optional floating to Pediatric ED; may float to ED Holding and Trauma as needed
  • Night shift schedule with both 36 and 48-hour contracts available
  • Travelers are scheduled for weekends as needed, with weekend days including Saturday and Sunday, and weekend nights being Friday through Sunday
  • Uses Cerner EMR system, previous experience preferred but not required
  • Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, and communication of clinical findings in the emergency setting
  • First-time travelers may be considered if they have at least 2 years of Level I trauma experience
  • Black scrubs required and not provided by the facility
  • Testing requirements include drug screening and P / F testing as part of onboarding
  • Travelers should not request more than 7 consecutive days of RTO; requests exceeding 7 days require approval and cannot occur during the first or last week of the assignment
  • Permanent employees may return as travelers if separated from the system for 12 months or more
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active NM or compact RN license, may be pending at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required; Level I trauma experience strongly preferred
  • Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must be obtained prior to consideration), NIHSS (may be pending by compliance deadline)
  • Must provide 2 professional supervisory references from the past 2 years
  • COVID vaccination required with medical and religious exemptions considered upon completion of necessary forms
  • No local candidates within 75 miles of the facility
  • Current driver’s license required, or statement of alternate transportation plan if not available
