The Brave Pets program centers around the Mobile Family Pet Reunion Center, a one-of-a-kind initiative that allows hospitalized children to reunite with their family pets in a safe, comforting environment.Position OverviewThe Brave Pets On-Site Liaison is the welcoming face of the Mobile Family Pet Reunion Center. This role is responsible for coordinating patient / family visits, supervising volunteers, and ensuring the reunion experience is safe, smooth, and filled with compassion. Liaisons act as guest relations hosts for patients, caregivers, hospital staff, pets, and volunteers, representing Brave Like Mes mission at one hospital site.This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling between 840 hours per month, primarily during weekend operations.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the on-site point of contact for families, volunteers, hospital staff, and Brave Like Me headquarters staff.Coordinate and host pet reunions, ensuring a positive and safe experience for all participants.Supervise and support volunteers during operations.Assist with setup, cleaning, and resetting the Pet Center between visits.Communicate regularly with hospital staff to ensure smooth scheduling and patient flow.Share reunion stories, photos, and updates with Brave Like Me HQ staff for impact reporting and storytelling.Maintain compliance with hospital safety, HIPAA, and all Brave Like Me protocols Remain attentive and responsive to the needs of children, families, and pets during visits.Schedule & Work ConditionsWork primarily on weekends when the Mobile Pet Center is on-site. Typical onsite times are as follows : Fridays (noon 6 : 00 PM)Saturdays & Sundays (9 : 00 AM 8 : 00 PM)Shifts will not exceed 8 hours.The Pet Center operates only 12 weekends per month at each site.Role requires working indoors within the Pet Center and outdoors (walking between the Pet Center and Hospital) in varying weather conditions.Qualifications & SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Prior experience in healthcare, child life services, social work, hospitality, or nonprofit program delivery preferred.Comfortable around animals of all sizes (including large dogs and cats).Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with children, families, and medical staff with empathy and professionalism.Ability to handle emotional situations with sensitivity and calm.Strong problem solving skillsMust complete all required hospital clearances and Brave Like Me training (may include First Aid / CPR, HIPAA compliance, additional safety training and pet-handling basics).Performance ExpectationsSuccess in this role will be measured by : Smooth coordination of family visits and pet reunions and local volunteers while onsite.Positive feedback from families, hospital staff, and volunteers.Consistent adherence to safety, cleanliness, and hospital protocols.Effective communication with the Programs Director, Brave Like Me HQ staff and Hospital StaffProfessional representation of Brave Like Mes mission and values at all times.Consistent reporting of daily visits and collection of family surveys to ensure impact measurement and program improvement.CompensationThis is a paid hourly role.Compensation range : $15$20 / hour, based on experience.No PTO or healthcare benefits are included.Growth & DevelopmentThis is a part-time position designed for those seeking meaningful work a few weekends per month.Training opportunities will be provided to enhance your skills and ensure best practices in patient care, volunteer coordination, and nonprofit operations.
