Shift Notes :

5x8 hr shifts, 1400 - 2230

  • Pay Rate : Rate may vary due to local or non-local contracted rates : 55-65 combined Rate of pay. ( Pay packages are a combination of taxable hourly rates, tax free allowances for travel, housing, and meal allowances) ( Rates are subject to change via client need)
  • Additional bonuses are available.

OPERATING ROOM RN / PERIOPERATIVE NURSE JOB DESCRIPTION :

Responsibilities

  • Pre-operative :  Prepare patients for surgery, answer questions, and help calm fears
  • Intra-operative :  Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies, and monitor the patient's condition
  • Post-operative :  Provide care and instructions, and manage complications
  • Operating room management :  Maintain a safe and comfortable environment, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals

    • Training

  • Earn an associate degree
  • Pass the NCLEX-RN exam
  • Complete additional schooling and relevant certifications
  • Complete a training program, which can take 14–24 weeks

    • Challenges

  • Balancing demanding schedules with personal commitments
  • Being available to work rotating shifts and on short notice for emergencies
