Job Title : Cell Equipment Engineer / Planner – Upstate New York

Position Overview
The Cell Equipment Engineer / Planner is responsible for the engineering, design, and implementation of all cell equipment within the Upstate New York markets. This role requires strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to forecast and plan for future network needs.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Engineering
Engineer, provision, and implement Samsung cell equipment, power plant systems, and antenna systems.Forecast and plan for future network needs, including base stations, routers, circuit packs, floor space, and power.Track order status in internal databases and provide regular updates in meetings.Develop and distribute planning reports for use by Regional and HQ teams.Budgeting & Financial Management
Support the preparation and review of the annual budget in collaboration with the Area Planning team and Manager.Track and manage capital requirements related to cell sites.Monitor equipment expenditures and prepare purchase order requests.Experience with PeopleSoft or similar systems is a plus.Equipment Procurement & Optimization
Ensure optimal engineering and configuration of cell equipment.Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and vendors for equipment installations.Oversee installation, testing, and acceptance processes.Develop standards documentation and ensure vendor compliance.Project Management
Manage design, procurement, and construction of new cell sites and expansions.Plan and oversee all related timelines, budgets, and deliverables.Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external partners.Complete assignments independently with minimal supervision.Qualifications
Experience & Skills
Samsung experience is highly preferred.Strong understanding of cell site equipment and infrastructure, including :Power requirementsTechnology within shelters or cabinetsProcurement experience :Prior use of procurement tools not required (training provided).Must be computer-savvy and comfortable learning new systems.Project management experience with the ability to plan and forecast network needs.Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related systems; PeopleSoft knowledge a plus.Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field orMinimum of 10 years of telecommunications experience with strong field knowledge.Additional Information
Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.Willingness to travel within the Upstate NY region as required.
