Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with at least 2 years of experience in both adult and pediatric echocardiography and required ARDMS, BLS, and RDCS certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center
  • Perform echocardiography for both adult and pediatric patients
  • Procedures include bubble studies, imaging with contrast, M-mode, pharmacologic and treadmill stress echos, portable echo, routine echo, and transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE)
  • Day shifts with a mix of 8- and 10-hour shifts starting between 7 : 00 AM and 8 : 00 AM, determined by department needs
  • On-call requirement 1-2 nights per week and every 3rd or 4th weekend, with holiday call rotations
  • Floating within the hospital or to affiliate locations is required
  • Cerner used for charting; Cerner experience preferred
  • Siemens equipment experience is preferred
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Strong knowledge of protocols for bubble studies, pharmacologic and stress studies, and pediatric echo procedures is necessary
  • Must complete hospital fingerprinting requirements before orientation if license is not required
  • Team will provide support during orientation and ongoing as needed
  • Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays if assignment occurs during holiday periods
  • Locals are accepted
  • No first-time travelers accepted
  • RTO beyond 5 non-holiday days requires prior approval
  • Free parking permit provided during orientation
  • Past perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month break before being eligible as a traveler
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in adult and pediatric echocardiography
  • Current ARDMS, BLS, and RDCS certifications required
  • Experience with procedures on ICU and ED patients and familiarity with isolation precautions
  • Ability to perform required echo techniques for both adult and pediatric populations, including advanced and portable studies
  • Must be able to float as necessary to meet facility needs
  • Must be in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for fingerprinting if license is not required
  • License required if applicable
