Job Summary

Our client is seeking an Authorization Agent responsible for verifying active insurance coverage, obtaining necessary facility and specimen collection information for billing in accordance with CMS regulations. They will also contact insurance companies for pre-authorization required for patients to receive services and reach out to facilities for Medical Records when necessary. The role requires ensuring information obtained is complete and accurate, following up on requests, and applying acquired knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other Third-Party Payer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Verify active insurance coverage.

Obtain all necessary facility and specimen collection information for billing.

Contact insurance companies to secure pre-authorization for services.

Contact facilities for Medical Records when necessary.

Ensure the completeness and accuracy of obtained information.

Follow up on requests.

Apply acquired knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other Third-Party Payer requirements.
