We are seeking an Entry Level Accountant for a role in the hospitality industry, specifically within a hotel in New York. This short term contract employment opportunity will involve various responsibilities relating to accounts receivable and customer service, utilizing tools such as Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities :
- Accurately and efficiently process invoices to ensure the financial accuracy of our hotel operations.
- Handle vendor communication effectively to resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Employ Microsoft Excel skills to maintain and manage financial data.
- Oversee the confirmation and matching of Purchase Orders (PO's) as part of the hotel's procurement process.
- Ensure the batching, matching, and coding processes are executed correctly for seamless financial operations.
- Be responsible for maintaining clear and accurate financial records.
- Utilize accounts receivable skills to monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, but any previous experience in a similar role will be considered an asset.
- Must have a strong understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Exceptional customer service skills are required, as the role involves dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create spreadsheets and reports.
- Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to spot numerical errors.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic hospitality industry environment.
