Lane County Public Works is hiring two Road Maintenance Operators to join our Road & Bridge Maintenance team—one on our Bridge Crew and one on our Cottage Grove Crew. In this role, you’ll help keep our communities connected by building, repairing, and maintaining the roads, bridges, and transportation infrastructure that thousands of residents rely on every day.

About the Division
The Road Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the County transportation system including some state highways and city streets under contract with Lane County. Although the majority of equipment and employees in Road Maintenance are based at the Delta Complex, satellite shops are located near Cottage Grove, Dexter, Veneta, and Florence. A crew and equipment are assigned to each Road Maintenance Zone. The Bridge Special Projects, Vegetation, and Sign Shop crew are headquartered at Delta and work throughout the County.

SUMMARY OF COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE INFORMATION :
Due to Department of Transportation requirements for those currently holding Commercial Drivers Licenses (CDLs), all candidates referred for interview for positions requiring CDLs will be asked to sign a consent to allow their former employers to disclose to Lane County Department of Public Works alcohol and drug related information for the past 3 years. This information will ONLY be requested after a conditional offer of employment has been extended.
Also, per 49 CFR 391.21(d), we wish to inform you that the information you provide regarding your previous employers and employment for the past 3 years may be used, and your employers of the past 3 years will be contacted, in order to investigate your safety performance history information as required by 49 CFR 391.23, (d) and (e). SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Employees in this classification are required to pass a pre-employment drug test, and to participate in an on-going drug testing program, including, but not limited to, random testing according to requirements of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
