Overview : Join Our Cardiovascular Lab Team! We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardio Invasive Specialist to become a vital part of our Alternative Call Team . This position offers a full-time schedule with a guaranteed 40 hours per week .

The unique schedule includes :

  • Week 1 : On-call for 7 consecutive days (no daytime shifts)
  • Weeks 2 & 3 : Four 10-hour shifts each week

This cycle provides a balance of flexibility and consistency. As a Cardio Invasive Specialist, you will supervise and support technical and patient care functions during diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cardiovascular Lab . You will also coordinate department operations and handle vital clinical data.

FTE : Exempt : No

Work Schedule : On Call Monday through Sunday 7pm to 7am, with a guaranteed 40 hours paid.

    • Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of invasive cardiovascular procedures.
  • Operate and maintain specialized cardiovascular equipment.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and provide support during procedures.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of procedures and patient information.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Educate patients and their families about procedures and post-procedure care.

    • Qualifications : Education :

  • Associate's Degree in Invasive Cardiovascular, Cardiopulmonary Technologist program, radiology, Respiratory therapy, paramedic, or a related healthcare degree.
  • OR Surgical Tech (Certificate must be from a 1-year minimum program) with experience in Adult Cath lab diagnostic and interventional procedures.

    • Experience :

  • A total of 3 years of additional experience can be substituted for a degree.
  • Preferred : 2+ years of previous experience as a cardiovascular invasive specialist.
  • At least 1 year of direct patient care experience is preferred.

    • License Requirements :

  • RCIS or RCES certification is required or candidates must enroll for RCIS test within 18 months and obtain it within 2 years of hire; RCES for EP must be enrolled within 30 months and obtained within 3 years.
  • BLS is required at the time of hire.
  • ACLS (PALS is only required at Presbyterian Downtown) is required within the first 6 months.
