Essential Job Responsibilities :
- Demonstrates competence related to the application of the Surgery Center's core values.
- Practices all facets of health & safety.
- Demonstrates competence in performance of duties and responsibilities related to tasks, skills and procedures rendered to the clients served.
- Must be client oriented and actively participates in the development of a healthy work environment and uses interpersonal skills to establish and maintain those healthy interpersonal relations which include functional trust, positive feedback, and constructive criticism.
- Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and phone calls while maintaining a professional courteous demeanor.
- Must be able to handle patient confrontations in a positive manner and also have the ability to handle emergency situations in order to develop triage skills.
- Have knowledge of the health care environment and patient processing with computerized scheduling software along with knowledge of outpatient surgery forms, policies and procedures.
- Able to handle a busy office environment and having an above average ability to prioritize and organize.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education :
High School Diploma or GED required.Knowledge of medical terminology.Minimum one (1) year experience in computerized appointment scheduling preferred.Three to five years experience as an administrative assistant in a surgical setting preferred.Current BCLS preferred.Other Requirements :
Ability to type 40 wpm, along with the use of standard office equipment and are computer literate.Knowledge of medical terminology.Current BCLS preferred.Have good communication skills, both written and oral.Above average ability to problem solve, find solutions, and detail oriented.Knowledge of outpatient surgery forms, policies, and procedures.Ability to use a computer, printer, copier, telephone, and fax without much aide.Equal Opportunity Employer
