What You'll Do :
Develop and lead a Safety Culture that is consistent with CMC standardsParticipate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety CultureEnsure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standardsLead all department personnel in a professional manner toward achieving company performance goals with emphasis on safety, quality, and meeting all company standardsPartner with HR in giving guidance and direction to staff with regards to hiring, disciplinary action, development, goal formulation and performance reviewsCollaborate with the Director of Operations and department managers to develop an ongoing strategic plan, detailing a roadmap for the next 5, 10, and 15 yearsWork with Managers as part of the Management TeamDirect and coordinate all activities including shipping receiving, operations, safety, environmental and any other operational activity or concern that may arise.Maintain an accurate inventory with no losses due to fraud, poor quality control, poor operational or accounting practicesPartner with Director of Operations to execute RONA, Working Capital, Operating Profit strategies, and Capital Expenditure planning and executionEstablish and meet business plan goals and objectives.Represent CMC and serve as a community liaison for local business and government events.Drive continuous improvement in processes, employee productivity, uptime improvements, and lead time reductionsWhat You'll Need :
Minimum 5 years of successful operational leadership experience preferredMinimum 2 years in the metals industry is preferredStrong communication skills (verbal, written, listening), with the ability to work effectively across different teams and levels of the organizationAbility to demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills by performing multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritizing work assignmentsDisplays a positive, can-do attitude; maintains composure when faced with difficult situationsAbility to work flexible hours and be available as needed by the businessAbility to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shiftWillingness to relocate at the end of the program if the next opportunity is at a different locationYour Education :
