As a Dining Room Team Leader you'll work under the general direction of the applicable Dining Room Manager / Director. Provides service to all dining room patrons in accordance with established Client and Dining Contractor standards and policies. Must be able to supervise and mentor dining room wait staff in the overall setup and service of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special functions as required. Trains new employees and adheres to and complies with established Client, Dining Contractor, and applicable regulatory agencies policy standard practices and procedures. Must be able to resolve customer issues or concerns in a friendly manner and provide follow-up reports to managers and supervisors.
What you will do in this role :
- Ensures dining room workstations are set up with all the necessary supplies prior to serving times, and that all dining room assignments have been met.
- Ensures dining room is set up for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special functions as required.
- Assists Supervisor and Manager on Duty with initial and daily training of wait staff.
- Promptly informs Supervisor and Manager on Duty of any major work-related issues or concerns.
- Follows standards of operations for food handling and storage and department safety and sanitation procedures.
- Assists in enforcing personnel policies and standards of behavior to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintains effective communication with the management team to provide for efficient and consistent application of policies and procedures as well as adequate supplemental supervisory coverage during hours of operation.
- Identifies safety and sanitation hazards and immediately reports them to Supervisor and Manager on Duty; assists in implementing action plans to correct same.
- Attends department meetings and in-service programs as scheduled.
- Follows established department policies, procedures, and objectives for quality assurance, safety and infection control.
- Attends department meetings and in-service programs and participates in educational programs and developmental in-service sessions to improve skill level.
- Assists Supervisor with opening and closing duties in the dining room and kitchen areas, if necessary.
- Assists Supervisor with ordering, receiving, and inventory.
- Assists Supervisor with planning catering functions and billing of various functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Work Schedule : Core work hours are varied. Rotating days and shifts may be required including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Special events or assignments may require working additional hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
Required : Working knowledge of the various equipment used in commercial kitchens and dining areas. Training will be provided to familiarize incumbent with work-related equipment to ensure safety and proper operation during use.Required : Prior dining services experience.Preferred : High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred : Working knowledge of computers, touch screen systems, and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
