Role Overview

As a Licensed Caregiver , you are delegated the authority, responsibility, and accountability for carrying out your assigned duties.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Treat all clients fairly, with kindness, dignity, and respect, including respecting privacy and confidentiality.
  • Perform or assist clients with supportive, comfort measures.
  • Prepare meals, snacks, and provide fluids as needed or per care plan.
  • Perform essential household services to support clients' independence (such as range of motion activities, encouraging movement, walking, hobbies, and activities).
  • Provide companionship and maintain a warm, positive, and calm atmosphere.
  • Shop and perform errands as needed (may drive or accompany client).
  • Support transportation arrangements and accompany to appointments as requested.
  • Adhere to all established safety procedures (including fire safety) in the performance of all duties. This includes using only trained equipment in a safe manner and reporting all accidents and injuries (to self or clients) to the agency director.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive client environment, adhering to all infection control and standard precaution practices, which includes light housekeeping.
  • Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the agency.
  • Thoroughly complete and submit all required documentation (e.g., records, time sheets, service plans) in a timely manner.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled orientation, in-service training, and educational classes.
  • Notify the agency of lateness at least two hours before the assigned visit.
  • Notify the agency of unexpected absence at least three days before the assigned visit.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and DiscoverU Health Core Values when observing and performing assigned tasks.

Requirements :

  • A valid driver’s license. (preferred).
  • Active CNA and / or CMT license in Maryland .
  • Pass a CJIS background check and all other pre-employment screening requirements.
  • MUST complete all necessary pre-hire documentation compliance.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and teamwork when interacting with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrates friendliness, coachability, and a commitment to supporting the best interests of each client.
  • Maintains attentiveness and strong observational skills to ensure accurate, high-quality care.
