American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Portland, Oregon.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 3 or 4 NICU Charge Nurse position with delivery and resuscitation experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Level 3 or 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within a short-term acute care hospital
  • Patient population includes critically ill neonates and newborns requiring advanced care
  • Expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 3
  • Position requires floating between NICU and other units or affiliate hospitals based on skill set and facility needs
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7 : 00 to 19 : 00
  • Variable and rotating weekend shifts required
  • On-call standby may be required when not scheduled on the unit
  • Epic electronic medical record system is used and prior experience is required
  • Role includes leadership responsibilities and managing NICU workflow as a Charge RN
  • Expect to float between nearby sister facilities including Milwaukie, Newberg, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent based on patient census and skill set
  • Hotel accommodation and mileage reimbursement provided for consecutive floating shifts to Seaside
  • Must commit to working at least 3 out of the 5 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Scrub attire is any color; specialty areas may provide specific attire
  • Pre-assignment online modules required prior to start and annually
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

    • Requirements

  • Active OR RN license, or eligibility to obtain prior to start
  • Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience, Level 3 or 4 required
  • Experience as a NICU Charge RN and in delivery / resuscitation required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Must provide two supervisory references covering one year within the last three years
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility for travel status eligibility
  • Former permanent staff must have a 3 month gap before returning as a traveler
  • Must have access to a personal vehicle for assignment
