This Sr. Engineering Manager leads a design environment group within CRM's Engineering Solutions organization. Visibility is high as this group supports the needs of the CRM R&D organization, along with other R&D organizations across the Medtronic enterprise that leverage the environments this group develops and maintains within its scope. These include environments that enable design fidelity, efficiency, and quality outcomes for mechanical design, requirements capture / flow / traceability, and product data management (PDM). Also included is the development and deployment of our high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) platforms which are leveraged for electrical design automation, system emulation, modeling and simulation, and machine learning. The group consists of highly skilled, experienced, and engaged design automation engineers, along various contractors or professional services personnel. This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Key Areas of Focus for This Position :

• Sets strategic direction, owns investment outcomes and value propositions, and leads the implementation of engineering design environments that are used in design and development of Medtronic's industry leading medical device products or software systems.
• Work across the enterprise and matrix within various businesses to maximize the utilization and increase the leverage of our investments in our design environments.
• Work with a large variety of vendors to identify and develop strategic partnerships that provide value for our organization and engineering stakeholders.
• Work with key stakeholders across the enterprise, and our vendors, to lead the development of new design methodologies, data / requirements management capabilities, along with computation and simulation solutions.
• Put the 'M' back in Mechanical Design Automation (MDA) by building an organization that can effectively partner and realize aspirations for the future of mechanical engineering.
• Be a key thought leader and influencer in the future of design automation.
• Develop the organization by increasing overall competencies in design methodologies, business acumen, vendor relationships, and responsiveness to stakeholder needs across a variety of design environments.
• Partner with like organizations and stakeholders across the enterprise to drive operational excellence in design automation as a competitive advantage for Medtronic by increasing engineering productivity, predictability, design fidelity, and overall quality of outcomes.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD) : $168,800.00 - $253,200.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification / education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
