The City of Puyallup is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative professional for the position of Permitting Systems Business Analyst in the Development and Permitting Services Department (DPS). Reporting to the Development and Permitting Services Director, this position will serve as the primary administrator of the Citys enterprise permitting software (currently CityView, a Harris Computer System solution). The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day management of the permitting system, training users, identifying workflow gaps, implementing changes, and providing user support. The role will also support department leadership with business process analysis, process improvements, key performance indicators, customer service data, and public-facing datasets such as dashboards, informational graphics, and annual reports.

Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in planning, computer science, management information systems, public or business administration or related field; and three years of experience supporting a permitting system including implementation, configuration and user support within a municipal planning and community development department. Or, a combination of education, experience, and training that indicates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position listed above.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Constant use of sight, hearing, and speech abilities to perform essential functions and communicate with others. Frequent sitting; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds; occasional standing and walking. Work primarily indoors in an office environment with typical office noise levels.
Selection Process

Applicants whose qualifications most closely correspond to the City's current needs will be contacted for testing and / or oral interviews. The appointing authority may conduct second interviews. Notification : following submission of application, an email acknowledgment of receipt will be sent. Persons selected for interview and / or testing will be notified by email, normally within 15 working days following the closing date. Not Selected : no formal notification is usually sent.
