Unit Specifics :

Number of Beds : 26

Patient Ratios : 4 : 1

Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Unit Secretaries 7a-7p / 2-3 PCTs

Type of equipment :   Telemetry / Atrium Chest collection systems / Dash Monitors / Pulse oximetry / Pace Maker generators / 12 lead EKG machines / bladder scanners / patient lifts

Documentation system : Meditech

Scheduling requirements : 3 shifts per week / 4 WE shifts per schedule

Floating policy : Will float in instances of overstaffing (PCU Covid, med / tele, med / surg / pcu holds ED)

Patient Experience requirements : Pacemakers, pre / post open heart / cardiac catheterization patients / STEMIs / post op Lung surgeries / TAVRs / cardioversion / Acute Respiratory Failure / BIPAP / Hi Flow O2

Requested Skill Set :   excellent communication skills with staff and patients, team and patient centered mindset

Must have :

2 years PCU experience / time management / prioritization skills

ACLS, BLS, NIH

Advanced skills needed : Critical thinking skills

Procedures performed on unit :   Chest tube insertion and management / management of sternotomy wounds / management of epicardia wires / cardioversion / management of various drips : Heparin, Amiodarone, Esmolol, Cardene, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, Dobutamine

Dress Code :

Navy blue
