Position description
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UCLA, Division of Anatomic Pathology, is seeking an outstanding pathologist to serve in the section of renal pathology. Candidate must possess an MD, MD / PhD, or equivalent. AP or AP / CP board certification is essential. Renal pathology fellowship training and / or prior independent sign out experience in this area is essential. Candidates with interest or experience in another sub-specialty area in anatomic pathology are also desirable. The appointment would be at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, commensurate with experience.
The candidate will be responsible for clinical service coverage on the medical renal pathology section and potentially other services, based on candidate's interest and experience. The UCLA medical renal service handles ~1300 medical kidney biopsies per year (approximately 60% native and 40% transplant) from UCLA and hospitals in the southern California area. The candidate will join our current service of two renal pathologists. UCLA has a strong and active nephrology division with numerous opportunities for research collaborations. The candidate will share responsibility for training residents and fellows and managing the regular nephrology clinical pathologic correlation conferences. Creative contributions in clinical, educational or research projects is expected.

The posted UC salary scales ( ) set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 Scale 6. The salary range for this position is $250,000 - $400,000. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan ( ), which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
