Network Security Engineer
Position Summary : The Network Security Engineer is entirely and consistently responsible to protect computers, networks, programs, and data from unauthorized access or damage. Managing development, strategic planning, and implementation and potential threats to the security of the client networks.
Job Requirements
- Secure and protect client network and facilities against intrusions and misuse of resources by using up to date systems, processes, and technologies
- Plan and implement system redundancies at all levels to minimize system downtime and increase security of the ITS network.
- Ensure that only authorized personnel have digital access to networks and their individual components. Regularly audit user permissions and maintain strict access control points.
- Maintain a secure and encrypted database that holds all sensitive documentation, encryption keys, administrative credentials, and password-protected resources.
- Support physical and logical security measures for all clients and corporate network infrastructure and connected facilities
- Develop and implement network security strategies, policies, and procedures
- Continuously monitor the organizations network for potential security breaches and unusual activity.
- Utilize event management tools to detect and respond in a timely matter
- Analyze network traffic and logs for potential vulnerabilities
- Respond to network security incidents and perform a root cause analysis
- Plan and implement future security strategies
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans
- Ensure the network complies with internal security policies and procedures
- Stay informed about the latest cyber security threats and trends
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, required,Minimum of 3 years experience working in a network security related role.Microsoft, Cisco or AWS certification5-10 years of IT support, network administration or cybersecurity experienceKnowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO / IEC 27001, or COBIT)Familiarity with tools (SIEM systems, firewalls, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners)Strong communication and incident response skillsAbility to develop and enforce security policiesRisk assessment and mitigation experienceDocumented experience in responding to network security eventsExperience with software such as SentinelOne, Rapid7, Manage Engine, Microsoft defender, Malwarebytes or similar productsExperience with Intrusion and Detection Systems (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)Understanding of encryption and cryptography techniquesPenetration testing experience is preferred but not requiredSoftware Security and Coding experience a plusHold one of the certificates listed below :CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
