About Us

MC Squared is a professional consulting engineering firm specializing in the fields of Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection, and Pavement Design and Management with offices in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Our clients include DOTs, municipalities, state agencies, and large multi-national engineering firms. We are retained to provide innovative solutions to complex subsurface issues to support the design of heavy civil infrastructure projects in Transportation, Water / Wastewater, Tunneling, Dams, and Aviation sectors, as well as provide cost-effective solutions for structures, commercial developments, and educational institutions. MC Squared has experienced significant year-over-year for the last several years and our current in-house projects and backlog show the trend will continue.

Job Overview :

Working part-time from either our Tampa, FL or Kennesaw, GA office, this position will aid in designing, configuring and maintaining infrastructures and IT systems to ensure optimal performance, connectivity and security. The role also participates in managing and troubleshooting server environments, cloud platforms, and network systems to ensure maximum uptime. Will also be documenting IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to create a knowledge base for the firm.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Create network and application diagrams, demonstrating interdependencies between systems, highlighting the bottlenecks and risks. Stretch goal is to outline a plan to address these bottlenecks and risks and the priority timeline.
  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including server uptime, network speed, and security protocols.
  • Perform regular diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and fix system errors or inefficiencies.
  • Ensure regular backup and recovery of critical business data, setting up disaster recovery protocols when necessary.
  • Implement software updates, patches, and security fixes to protect systems from vulnerabilities.

Qualifications :

  • Able to work on-site 25 hours / week
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Currently a late Sophomore, Junior or Senior.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking principles.
  • Hands on experience with SharePoint and Power Automate development preferred.
  • Hands on development with Power BI considered a plus.
  • Hands on experience using Jira considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and common business applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
