Position Overview

The Department of Surgery at the University of Arizona-Tucson is seeking an academic abdominal multi-organ transplant surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The ideal candidate will focus on kidney and pancreas transplantation, including deceased and living donor procedures, liver and pancreas transplants, dialysis access, and other surgical interventions for end-organ failure. The role involves participation in a multidisciplinary team managing the entire transplant process. Banner University Medical Center, Tucson, offers advanced inpatient and outpatient facilities, with active lung and abdominal organ transplant programs.

Qualifications

• BC / BE in General Surgery
• Completed ASTS-accredited transplant fellowship
• Valid AZ license or eligibility
• Experience or interest in living donor transplantation, including paired exchanges (preferred)
• Training in multi-organ procurement, kidney, liver, and pancreas transplantation
• Demonstrated teaching skills and interest in mentorship
• Opportunities for research and leadership development
• Experienced physicians preferred; new physicians are also encouraged to apply
