- HYBRID REMOTE opportunity for candidates geographically located in or near Rochester, New York with a willingness to travel up to 20%. Candidates MUST be located in Upstate New York to meet on customer sites as necessary.
As a Senior Security Solutions Architect, you will serve as the focused technical lead and sales engineer for ePlus targeted product and service solutions, supporting the ePlus regional sales team to drive revenue creation and capture within the customer account portfolio. You will have the opportunity to work with our master architects, engineers, and consultants, to understand our clients' needs and craft sustainable IT roadmaps to get them there.
YOUR IMPACT
The essential functions of this position include :
Provide technical expertise to sales teams and customers on designated solution focus areaEstablish credibility and trusted advisor status with ePlus' sales team and customersConduct customer facing presentations on ePlus' core competencies and technical solution offerings for assigned accounts and focus areasAssist sales team with overall account planning as it relates to technical aspects of hardware, software, and services opportunity qualification and developmentComplete and author technical sections for RFP / RFI / RFQ responsesAssist sales team with identifying and capturing customer business and technical requirements during the sales cycle and determining ePlus' recommended solutionDevelop and finalize solution architecture / design and detailed line item configurations and / or bill-of-materials (BOMs)Develop and finalize solution proposal and / or presentation of recommended solutionsLead technical scoping / reviews with sales team and customers for Statement of Work (SOW) generation, planning and designing solutions for complex multi vendor solutions (i.e. Cisco / Sourcefire, Lancope, Palo Alto, McAfee, Splunk, Imperva, Check Point, FireEye, Gigamon)Function as a subject matter expert (SME) for customer technical staff regarding proposed solution and its design, configuration, implementation, and testing specificsFunction as technical liaison and ePlus ambassador with field OEM channel sales and technical teamsAssist sales team with mentoring of associate account managers as it relates to overall opportunity management and technical solution setConduct knowledge transfers with solution architect colleagues and service delivery team regarding solution and OEM product updates / changes, lessons learned from previous engagements / experience, etc., as relevantAssist sales team in dealing with customer satisfaction issues surrounding technical aspects or approach of a recommended solutionAssist in developing a get well plan, as appropriateIdentify product or services candidates to sales and services management as new solution areas for ePlus to potentially development or investmentComplete training and maintain OEM certification(s) as requested and approved by management, in accordance with assigned focus areaBe proactive in highlighting and suggesting areas for improvement in the regional procedures, structure, reporting, etc.Propose ideas and solutions to help improve functional areasEnsure appropriate coverage for in-process and new solution sales cycle opportunities while out of office for training, vacation, PTO, etc.Participate in weekly pre sales engineering conference callsReview current pipeline and forecast potential revenue, win probability, and estimated date of completion, on a weekly basisComplete administrative tasks (expenses, time reporting, pipeline) in a timely fashionConduct ePlus branded lunch and learns with customers and identify sales opportunities, as requested by managementQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred5+ years of applicable technical pre-sales engineering experienceHold certifications commensurate with the technology and solutions focused onRecent Cybersecurity Architecture / Design / Operational experience in Networks, Data Center Systems, and Cloud Infrastructure and Platforms (IaaS security, PaaS security).Experience in threat-modelling of complex systems and knowledge of common attack techniques and vectors.Experience in delivering comprehensive architecture specifications for complex security solutions.Strong cross-domain and cross-functional knowledge that will enable design of the best possible security solutions.Solid understanding of, and ability to speak authoritatively to, security principles in areas such as network, systems, virtualization, cloud technologies, application development, databases and access control.Hands-on experience, strong understanding, and demonstrated knowledge of enterprise security technologies including :Secure Multi-Cloud architectureVulnerability ManagementNetwork SecurityEndpoint SecurityAdvanced Threat DetectionPrivilege Access and Identity ManagementData Governance, Identification, Classification & Loss PreventionSEIM, SOAR, and Security OperationsExperience with open source-based security technologies.Programming / coding and automation experience is a plus (e.g. Python, Ansible, Chef, Salt).Experience integrating multiple vendor products.Basic understanding of compliance, regulatory and legal requirements relevant to customer industry such as PCI, SOX, HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR, CCPA.Basic understanding of relevant Industry Principles, Best Practices, and Standards, such as NIST, ISO, CSA and ISSA.Greatly Preferred Experience :

The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $120,000 and $170,000 annually.
The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, our compensation structure may include other components such as commissions and discretionary bonuses.
