Job Title : Engineering Associate

Location : Austin, TX 78703 (Onsite)

Duration : 12 Months contract

Pay Rate : $ 33 / HR on W2.

Must Have

  • Bachelors degree in engineering on below fileds :
  • engineering physics
  • engineering technology
  • mathematical science
  • physical science or related science.
  • Driver s license

Job Description : General Overview :

Under close supervision of a licensed professional engineer, performs entry level engineering assignments for Electrical power Substations by assisting with engineering projects and design work in the Control & Protection area.

  • Under direct guidance, conducts basic engineering studies and computations, develops design and cost estimates, lays out drafting work, correlates / compiles data, conducts and analyzes tests and evaluates equipment performance. May be assisted by technicians, or experienced engineers.
  • Investigates and analyzes basic problems and develops appropriate solutions.
  • Drafts less complicated reports and assists with more complex reports.
  • Prepares reports, operating instructions, and project outlines in connection with fundamental engineering assignments. Learns and follows appropriate business procedures.
  • Assists in planning and design of engineering projects. Performs basic engineering and design work. Conducts field analysis and inspections.
  • Drafts specifications as required for basic projects for which there are precedents.
  • Completes related computations and drafts schematics and diagrams.
  • Interprets engineering specifications.
  • Coordinates project reviews and implementation plans between individuals and sections.
  • Ensures timely communications occur, as needed, on project activities.
  • Studies and attends classes on LCRA procedures, equipment, and systems.
  • Gathers engineering information by traveling to various locations (substations, power plants, etc.) as necessary.
  • May assist more experienced engineers in the interpretation of basic engineering drawings or manufacturers' specifications for field personnel.
  • Communicates any recommended changes to the responsible engineer for the correction.

    Minimum Qualifications : Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, mathematical science, physical science or related science. Drivers license

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of engineering principles.

  • Knowledge of applicable laws, principles, standards, codes, and documentation specific to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job
  • Skill in analyzing and solving problems
  • Skill in verbal and written communication
  • Skill in designing, interpreting diagrams, schematics, and drawings
  • Basic skill level in document management systems
  • Intermediate skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Basic skill in reading and interpreting diagrams and prints
  • Skill in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications for field personnel - Skill in analyzing reports for quality assurance
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to balance competing and high priority work demands Work

    • Environment : - Work hours are spent in an office environment and / or field environment

    Physical Demands : - Work involves frequent finger / hand manipulation in using a keyboard and mouse - Work involves frequent standing and / or walking.
