Public Records Specialist
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Public Records Specialist to join our team in Hermosa Beach, California. This remote contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to focus on managing and processing public records requests while ensuring compliance with California privacy laws. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in eDiscovery and familiarity with local government regulations, contributing to efficient document management and legal support processes.
Responsibilities :
- Manage public records requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Work with specialized software tools such as NextRequest, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Perform searches and downloads of records, handling routine requests as well as larger document productions.
- Utilize eDiscovery tools to locate and organize relevant documents for legal cases.
- Ensure adherence to California privacy laws and regulations in all document-related processes.
- Maintain and update case management systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information.
- Attend occasional onsite meetings to coordinate with the team and address operational needs.
Requirements :
Prior experience with public records requests is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of California privacy laws and local government regulations.Familiarity with software such as NextRequest, SharePoint, and Outlook.Ability to manage large volumes of records and prioritize tasks effectively.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Nice to have : Proven experience in eDiscovery and document management within a legal or government setting.Nice to have : Availability to work a hybrid schedule (if local) for occasional onsite meetings.If qualified, interested, and available, please email for immediate responses.
