Board Member Job Description
Hamdard Health Alliance is a Federally Qualified Health Center with locations in Addison, Rogers Park, and Skokie, Illinois. Hamdard provides comprehensive primary care and mental health services with support in case management, health education, and senior health services.

Description :
Hamdard is a Federally Qualified Health Center designated by the Federal government to serve underserved populations through its array of patient-centered services. Hamdard’s board is composed of both consumers and community members. As a consumer, you are intrinsically involved in running your community health center, and as a community member, this is an opportunity to give back to the community you live or work in. This position is voluntary, and no compensation is provided. Board members receive education and training opportunities on compliance and other program requirements.
Responsibilities :
- Establish and uphold the mission and strategic direction of the health center.
- Ensure compliance with all HRSA Section 330 requirements , federal and state laws, and ethical standards.
- Approve major organizational policies, including quality, financial, and personnel policies.
- Evaluate and monitor organizational performance through regular review of financial, clinical, and operational reports.
- Participate in developing and approving the health center’s strategic plan and annual budget
- Select, hire, support, evaluate, and, if necessary, terminate the Chief Executive Officer.
- Conduct an annual evaluation of the CEO’s performance based on established goals.
- Ensure that the center provides high-quality, culturally competent, and patient-centered care.
- Review clinical performance and quality improvement reports.
- Promote patient satisfaction and community responsiveness.
- Participate actively in long-term planning, goal setting, and evaluation.
- Advocate for policies that strengthen community health and access to care.
- Engage in community partnerships and support the health center’s visibility and reputation
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive organizational matters.
- Be part of at least one committee on the Board
