Descripción del trabajoHigh school diploma / GED. State of Florida Fire Safety Inspector or obtain within ninety (90) days of hire. Must possess a State of Florida Fire Investigator or International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI)- Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) or NAFI Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI), or obtain within twenty-four (24) months of hire or promotion. Must possess or obtain within six (6) months of hire or promotion : CPR AED and First Aid Provider. Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion. Meets physical ability requirements designated by the Cape Coral Fire Department. Consults with builders, owners, and contractors to identify potential problems or violations, discusses any necessary modification and / or changes required, and ensures corrective action is taken in assigned area. Inspects buildings and facilities under construction, alteration and / or repair for compliance with applicable code requirements and for safe application of construction practices in assigned area. Receives and investigates complaints related to fire hazard or code violations, makes recommendations, insures notification, and conducts re-inspections. Investigates extinguished fires to determine origin and cause; if accidental, makes recommendation to prevent reoccurrence. May conduct fire investigation with State Fire Marshal's Office and other local law enforcement personnel. Advises builder / owner of violations; initiates appropriate action to bring installation into compliance; orders removal or modification of equipment as required; follows appropriate departmental procedures to ensure enforcement and corrective action taken in assigned area.
