Property Damage Estimator / Insurance & Construction Expert

United Public Adjusters & Appraisers, Inc. is looking for a full-time Construction Insurance Property Damage Estimator to join our growing team. We need a boots-on-the-ground professional who can accurately evaluate structural damage and prepare insurance-compliant repair estimates for both residential and commercial properties.
This is a critical role in helping our clients recover from property damage due to fire, water, storms, and more. You’ll be the eyes in the field—inspecting properties, spotting hidden damages, and producing clear, accurate scopes of work that support the claims process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site property inspections across the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT), with occasional travel outside the region as needed
- Prepare detailed damage assessments and repair estimates using Xactimate or similar platforms
- Identify code upgrades, hidden damages, and additional scopes often missed by carrier adjusters
- Collaborate with internal team members including public adjusters, contents specialists, and claim managers
- Support claims through documentation, photographs, and expert insights during negotiations
- Participate in joint inspections and adjuster meetings when required
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in property damage estimating or a related construction fieldProficiency with Xactimate (REQUIRED)Strong understanding of residential and / or commercial construction practicesReliable vehicle and valid driver’s license (REQUIRED)Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Tri-State area—and occasionally beyondExcellent organizational and written communication skillsProfessional, compassionate communicator — able to assist property owners during times of lossSelf-motivated, dependable, and detail-orientedExperience
