Mama Bird Southern Kitchen is looking for motivated and talented Prep Cooks to join our team in West Jordan, UT! We’re hiring for both full-time and part-time positions.

We’re open seven days a week, serving up delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We’re seeking individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in their craft, and are passionate about great food and hospitality.

Pay Rate : $16 - $19 per hour

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications.
  • Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients.
  • Measure and mix ingredients for sauces, marinades, and dressings.
  • Assist line cooks and chefs with daily food preparation and setup.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, storage, and coolers.
  • Properly label, date, and store all food items to ensure freshness and food safety.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including temperature checks and cross-contamination prevention.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or needs to kitchen management.
  • Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries.
  • Support the kitchen team with additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.

    • Requirements :

  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Basic understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs for extended periods.
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Reliable, punctual, and positive attitude a must.
  • Food Handler’s Permit (or ability to obtain one before starting).
