Must-Have :

• 2 years recent ICU RN experience
• WY RN license

Description :

Critical care registered nurses provide care for patients who have experienced severe medical issues.

They assess patient conditions and plan and implement care plans.

They treat wounds and provide advanced life support.

They assist physicians in performing procedures.

They observe and record patient vital signs.

They ensure that medical equipment functions properly and may adjust ventilators and IABPs.

They administer intravenous fluids and medications.

They perform suctioning as needed.

They collaborate with fellow team members in critical care.

They respond to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocols for treatment.

They act as patient advocates.

They provide education and support to patient families.

Critical care nurses may also care for pre- and post-operative patients.

Some serve as case managers and policy makers, while others may perform administrative duties.

Candidates may occasionally care for pediatric and adolescent patients as needed.

Floating between campuses may be required depending on facility census.
